ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS
Our activities include providing volunteers to assist with Summer Registration, assisting Librarians with checking out textbooks during registration, participating in the National Reflections Arts Program, chaperoning dances, assisting with the annual Homecoming Fair, providing snacks and water during AP testing, providing volunteers to proctor AP exams, and providing refreshments for the Senior PRIDE Awards Night. In addition, we provide scholarships for Poly High School seniors, and organize special faculty and staff appreciation breakfasts/luncheons throughout the year. We are always in need of donations and volunteers to assist with these luncheons. If you would like to join one of our committees, volunteer to work an event, or make a donation, please e-mail us at riversidepolyptsa@gmail.com.

REFLECTIONS
The Reflections Arts Recognition Program is a national arts recognition and achievement program for students. Since 1969, over 10 million students across the nation have taken part in this popular PTA program.

The excitement and enthusiasm that the program generates for students, parents, schools and communities is unmatched with the majority of California PTAs participating in the program at all PTA levels.

That's why the Reflections Program provides an excellent opportunity for students of all ages to:
  • Unleash their creative talents and be inspired
  • Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
  • Experience the joy and fun of making art
  • Tap into critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
  • Receive positive recognition for their original works of art
  • As an added bonus, in showcasing and celebrating student talent, the Reflections Program increases community awareness of the importance of the arts in education.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Riverside Poly High PTSA created a scholarship program to
  1. Assist Poly High seniors in meeting the rising expenses of a college education; and
  2. Acknowledge outstanding service by high school seniors to their school and community.
The program is open to all seniors graduating in June, who meet the minimum grade point average and who will pursue higher education at a professional technical/trade school, community college, or university. All applicants must be current PTSA members - ASB membership does not fulfill this requirement. The main emphasis in awarding scholarships, though, is placed on the applicant’s history of volunteerism within their school environment and their community. As the Poly PTSA is primarily a service organization, it is important to the organization to foster a sense of responsibility among the students and reward commitment to the student’s community. Scholarship applications will be available in the Poly Office beginning Spring.
