PELI Training!

Greetings Parent Leaders, Teachers and Admin,

As Parent Involvement Chair for the Riverside Council PTA as well as being the Poly PTSA president, I have the unique opportunity and privilege this year of being a part of organizing a Parent Engagement Leadership Initiative (PELI) Training program through Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE).  This training is open to ALL parent leaders at Poly, not just PTA! Booster Club leaders, ELAC leaders, Team parents, etc., are encouraged to sign up!

Our wonderful principal Dr. Michael Roe has graciously offered to finance this fantastic training program for our parent community.  This training series is a certificated program, in which all participants will receive a certificate upon completion of all modules.

The goal of the training is to take our parent leaders who already exhibit leadership skills, and help them develop their skills further, providing them with the confidence and support needed to implement a Parent Involvement program on campus that will remain through the years, far after the training is over. Teachers and admins are also strongly encouraged to attend, so that they may better understand and support their parent group as they work towards the development of the program throughout the rest of the year.

Below this article, you will find the PELI brochure as provided by RCOE.  For more information, please call me at: 951-207-1878.

Registration is open to all Poly High School parents, as well as our two feeder middle schools Gage and Central, and our seven feeder elementary schools (Bryant, Magnolia, Pachappa, Alcott, Victoria, Washington and Castle View) on a first-come, first-serve basis.

A wait-list has been established for parents from other district schools, and all teams that register will be contacted via email, and notified if accepted. Team must consist of 5 members from any given school, and can be any combination of parents, teachers, and/or administrators, however a parent majority in the team is strongly recommended. The dates for the training are:
